    The AIDS epidemic will plague the world for at least one or two
 generations, even if scientists find an effective vaccine in the
 next few years, according to the chairman of the international AIDS
 conference that starts Monday in Berlin.  The epidemic has yet to
 reach its peak, said Karl-Otto Habermehl, who heads a virology
 institute.
