    Magic Johnson announced he is returning to the Los Angeles Lakers
 as a player on a limited schedule.  The 33-year-old basketball star
 retired 11 months ago after testing positive for the AIDS virus.
 Johnson, who led the U. S. Olympic team to a gold medal this summer,
 said he would play between 50 and 60 games out of an 80-plus game
 schedule.
