    Company Sues Centocor Inc. 
    Over Non-Compete Contract

    Repligen Corp. charged Centocor Inc. with breaching a
 non-compete agreement in the AIDS research field, in a
 lawsuit filed in U. S. District Court in Boston.
    Repligen alleges that Centocor, its former business
 partner, violated a 1987 agreement to transfer all of its
 AIDS-related technology to Repligen and refrain from
 competing in the field.
    Repligen, a Cambridge, Mass., biotechnology conern, said
 in the complaint that it is seeking a court order for the
 transfer to Repligen of Centocor's AIDS-related technology,
 an immediate halt to current Centocor AIDS research and
 unspecified damages.
    A spokesman for Repligen declined to comment.  No one could
 be reached at Centocor, a Malvern, Pa., biotechnology
 concern.
