    NEW YORK -- While over-the-counter stocks coasted to a
 mixed finish, several issues fell sharply on news out of
 Washington.

    After rallying sharply for weeks, medical
 technology-related stocks have fallen in the past two
 sessions.  Immune Response, which lost 15 3/4 Wednesday, sank
 5 to 41 yesterday on 2.5 million shares.  Indications that FDA
 approval of AIDS vaccines may take longer than hoped for have
 depressed the stock.
