    Love 'em or hate 'em:  Nobody is neutral on stocks these
 days.
    Carter-Wallace surged 3 1/4 to 108.  The shares of the
 company, whose products include condoms, reacted to
 Thursday's news that basketball player Magic Johnson has
 contracted the AIDS virus.
    ICN Pharmaceuticals dropped 4 3/8 to 12 1/8.  The Big Board
 took the unusual step of halting "stop loss orders" in the
 company's stock to keep it from selling off after soaring in
 recent weeks.
