    Liposome Co. Gets NIH Grant

    PRINCETON, N. J. -- Liposome Co. said it received a grant
 from the National Institutes of Health to develop lipid and
 liposomal drugs to treat AIDS-related infections.
    The award is part of a national cooperative drug discovery
 grant to a group of medical researchers from several
 institutions who are studying ways to attack cryptococcosis,
 an often fatal infection that afflicts AIDS patients.
 Altogether, the team received a $3.1 million, four-year grant
 from NIH. 
    Liposome said it will receive commercial rights to all
 lipid- or liposome-based drugs resulting from its
 participation in the project.
