Business Brief -- Liposome Co.: Patent Granted for Device Used to Deliver Antibiotics Liposome Co. said it was granted a patent on its multilamellar liposomes, which are used to deliver antibiotics at the cellular level. The patent will also cover medicines encapsulated in the liposomes, including the company's TLC G-65 drug, meant to treat infections in AIDS patients. TLC G-65 is still in Phase II clinical trials. The Princeton, N. J., company had a first-quarter loss of $1.3 million, or nine cents a share, on revenue of $1.5 million. In 1990, the company had a loss of $5 million, or 35 cents a share, on revenue of $7.1 million.
