    BEAVERTON, Ore.  -- Epitope Inc. said two of its three
 founders, Denis R. Burger, chairman, and Michael C. Hubbard,
 president and chief executive officer, resigned to pursue
 other business interests.
    The biotechnology concern said it named Roger Pringle
 chairman and Adolph J. Ferro president and chief executive
 officer.  Mr. Pringle was an Epitope director; Mr. Ferro was
 formerly president of the company's Agritope Inc. unit.
    Mr. Burger left to pursue full-time operation of Yamhill
 Valley Vineyard and his related wine-distribution business.
 He will remain a member of the board, and will serve as a
 consultant.  Mr. Hubbard will pursue other unspecified
 business interests, the company said.  He also will remain as
 a consultant.
    A third founder, Andrew Goldstein, remains with the
 company as vice president, product development.
    Epitope is developing diagnostic tests for AIDS as well as
 therapeutic drugs for protozoan diseases.  The company also is
 developing genetically engineered plant varieties through its
 Agritope subsidiary.
    In its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, the company
 posted a net loss of $541,000, or eight cents a share, on
 revenue of about $1 million.  It had a loss of $870,000, or 18
 cents a share, on revenue of $544,000 the year earlier.
