Warren Wagar is just that: a history book chronicling future events as though they already have happened. The book's narrative voice belongs to Peter Jensen, a historian who, living a couple of centuries from now, presents to the reader a world view from the 1990s to the beginning of the 23rd century. Humanity, according to Jensen, can look forward to interstellar travel, a vaccine for AIDS and contact with extraterrestrials. We can also look forward to nuclear war, the re-emergence of the Cold War and a world-wide depression. --- Mr. Pritchett is a student at Dartmouth.
