Georgia Tech Poll Finds AIDS Fears in Workplace ATLANTA -- A telephone poll indicates that the spread of acquired immune deficiency syndrome has created management challenges for U. S. companies. The poll of more than 2,000 workers found fears of mingling with AIDS victims in the workplace, according to Georgia Institute of Technology's Center for Work Performance Problems, which directed the survey. Among the respondents, 37% said they wouldn't share tools or equipment with a co-worker suffering from AIDS. Another 66% said they would be concerned about using the same bathroom. Some 40% said they have negative feelings about eating in the same cafeteria with AIDS victims. And, 42% said they believe it "likely" that people who claim to have various illnesses are really covering up the fact that they have AIDS.
