   Say AIDS Test Approved

   ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Biotech Research Laboratories Inc. and
Du Pont Co. said the Food and Drug Administration has given
marketing approval for their AIDS virus antibody-detection
test.
   The test detects antibodies to the human T-cell
lymphotropic virus type III, which has been associated with
acquired immune deficiency syndrome.  Biotech said the test
initially will be sold mostly to blood banks for screening
donated blood.
